The Pennsylvania Department of Health released its weekly update on COVID-19 trends in cases, vaccines and hospitalizations.
Statewide, the daily average number of cases between December 27 and January 2 was 18,344. 32-percent of all ventilators statewide are in use and approximately 28-percent of all staffed adult ICU beds are COVID-19 patients.
“The Wolf administration continues working to increase testing opportunities and ensure that vaccine is readily available to everyone five and older,” Acting Secretary of Health Keara Klinepeter added.
“Meanwhile, wash your hands frequently, avoid crowds and poorly ventilated spaces and maintain physical distance to help reduce spreading the virus over the winter months.”
According to the Department of Health, 269,488 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered in that timeframe.
As of December 30, 74.1-percent of Pennsylvanians over the age of 18 are fully vaccinated.
