He was 85. DeLuca was the senior member of the Pennsylvania House and represented the 32nd Legislative District for 39 years.

DeLuca was the longest-serving member of the house.

DeLuca graduated from Westinghouse High School and the Community College of Allegheny County.

He had four children, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

DeLuca's office will be closed this week, re-opening for constituents next Monday.

Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald released the following statement Monday morning:

“I am saddened to hear of the passing of Tony Deluca. As Allegheny County’s longest serving state representative, he lived to serve his constituents. He was always thinking about what is best for the working men and women in his beloved Penn Hills.

“His work ethic was rewarded election after election as the people of his district knew he was always working for them. His annual picnic in Penn Hills Park was always a highlight of the political season and was attended by Governors, US Senators, and national and statewide figures.

“Tony will be sorely missed. My condolences to his family.”

Republican Speaker of the House Bryan Cutler released the following statement:

“Our chamber will not be the same when we reconvene for session. Rep. DeLuca was not just our longest serving current member, but one of the most revered and respected by his colleagues and all Pennsylvanians.

“Rep. DeLuca’s unwavering commitment to his district could never be questioned, and his efforts on behalf of all Pennsylvanians, and in particular children, as the Democratic chair of the House Insurance Committee will have an impact for many years to come.

“We will miss his welcoming spirit and wisdom in our chamber, and we will miss the friendship he brought to so many. My prayers are with his wife and family during this difficult time, and on behalf of the House of Representatives, we offer our sincerest condolences. Rep. DeLuca will be truly missed.”
