A local teenage girl, paralyzed from the waist down in a trampoline accident last year, continues to push forward in her recovery.

Mary Maloney, daughter of KDKA TV reporter Pam Surano, was featured in a recent video published by R.A.W. Training in Gibsonia.

Along with the video, the fitness center shared this message in an Instagram post:

"Athlete Shout Out!! Mary Maloney getting in a tough push-pull super-set while stabilizing without her wheelchair.  Mary is all grit, ready to try anything and of course some giggles especially when asked about her dog Buddy."

93.7 The Fan's Colin Dunlap, co-host of the Fan Morning Show, also shared his message of encouragement on Twitter, writing "this is what a warrior, two angels and determination looks like. this is Mary Maloney-she’s paralyzed from the waist down but she’s a warrior."

In August of 2020, Maloney had a serious accident on a trampoline, suffering a spinal stroke that left her paralyzed from the waist down.

At the time, a Go Fund Me page was set up to help the family with medical expenses and is close to reaching the goal set for the campaign.
