A bit of Hollywood magic is coming to the Mon Valley.
Over $7 million in state funds is being used for a redevelopment project at the Carrie Blast Furnace in Rankin.
The big plans for the money include a large sound stage with the latest technology available for those looking at Pittsburgh for their next film project.
Dawn Keezer with the Pittsburgh Film Office says the sound stage will be a first for the region.
"We have lots of repurposed warehouse space in the region. We're lucky to have my spaces they're able to sell that we still haven't built anything from the ground up that has met the new technology requirements the industry is asking for."
Keezer says in total, they plan of six sound stages when the project is done.
Film projects in the area generated around $330 million last year in economic impact last year. 2022 is expected to be even better.
