Pittsburgh International Airport to upgrade military lounge

Pittsburgh International Airport

PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) Pittsburgh International is revamping their military lounge.

The airport announced today the USO Pittsburgh Airport Center will include complimentary food and drinks, seating and rest areas, along with a gaming system and computer lab.

The USO's Christine Reed says the military lounge has not been open during the pandemic, and they were able to use that time to take over.

"So we're more than happy to do that, the USO is a recognized name around the world and particularly in airports across the United States," Reed told KDKA Radio. "So it offers a familiar place for our military or a safe place, they know what they're going to get from a USO, they feel comfortable with our brand."

Currently, the military lounge at the airport - located in Concourse C - welcomes about 1,000 travelers each year.
