A local officer is looking for a kidney and the Pittsburgh Police Department wants to help.
Pittsburgh Police are asking for the community's help in finding a kidney donor for officer Jeffery Crawford.
Crawford has been on dialysis and the transplant waitlist for over a year at this point, but that has all but kept him away from his job and community.
He's still reporting for duty and responding to active 911 calls all while being an active member in the community, partaking in various events.
The Pittsburgh Police shared the cause on Twitter with the requirements and how to sign up to donate and find out if you're a match.
They said blood type doesn't matter and that anyone interested in learning more about donating can call 412-647-4438 or visit livingdonorreg.upmc.com. Be sure to use officer Crawford's full name when signing up.
