The Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium has welcomed another cute baby animal.

A pygmy hippopotamus, named Hadari, came to the zoo on May 23 from Alabama’s Montgomery Zoo.

Hadari is getting used to his new home in the Jungle Odyssey area.

“Hadari is trying out everything, every which way. He is super rambunctious, loves exploring, and is a confident hippo,” said Kelsey Forbes, the Curator of Mammals at the zoo.

The zoo says that he also likes being around zoo keepers and visitors and likes eating green beans, cooked carrot and oranges.

He is also growing his tusk and visitors will continue to see it grow.

The pygmy is one of two types of hippos in the world. The other, is the, larger, Nile hippo.

The pygmy is found in West Africa and is more endangered than the Nile, with less than 3,000 in the wild because of forest and swamp loss, which is their habitat.

They typically live 30 to 50 years.
