
Police responded a shooting outside Monroeville Mall on Wednesday.
Monroeville Police Chief Doug Cole said the incident happened just before 1:30pm outside the West Court entrance, near Party City.
According to police, three people were arguing when at least two shots were fired. A 20-year-old male was shot in the chest.
He said first responders arrived within five minutes of the initial reports. They found the victim collapsed on the ground in front of the entrance.
The victim was taken to Forbes Hospital in Monroeville where he was pronounced dead.
Police say the other two fled the scene in a burgundy vehicle sedan and they believe all three involved knew each other.
The mall remained open after the incident and police say most patrons inside were unaware of the shooting.
In April of 2019, another shooting took place at Monroeville Mall.
In February of 2015, in individual shot three people inside the mall.
