According to KDKA Radio’s Colin Dunlap, three people were questioned yesterday by ICE agents in the North Hills.
Dunlap says a very credible source tells him the agents were at a Mexican restaurant in the area.
At another restaurant, close by the first one, Dunlap says ICE Agents were there before the business opened its doors.
“Word got out and no one showed up and the place didn’t open up for business,” said Dunlap on his show Monday.
No word on if anybody was detained by agents.
Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey says his administration will not work with Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials.
This is a developing story. KDKA Radio has reached out to a few local businesses on how they are being affected.
Since taking office, Trump has declared a national emergency at the US-Mexico border, allowing his administration to crack down on the number of undocumented immigrants entering the country and those who are already here.
It’s an increased effort by ICE, as a report from the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30 showed the average number of daily arrests of non-citizens with criminal convictions or pending charges was 310.7.
