Ross Township woman arrested on charges related to January riot at U.S. Capitol

A Ross Township woman was arrested Thursday morning for criminal activities in the riot at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC on January 6.

According to the criminal complaint, the FBI identified Jennifer Heinl through connection to another suspect, Kenneth Grayson. Security camera footage shows Heinl inside the U.S. Capitol Rotunda, the U.S. Capitol Crypt and in restricted areas on Capitol grounds.

According to the FBI Heinl and Grayson communicated via Facebook messenger discussing travel arrangements to Washington, DC.

Heinl reportedly told the FBI that she had spoken with Grayson, but they did not travel together. According to the FBI, she said she traveled to DC on January 5, attended the rally alone and returned to Pittsburgh the following day.

The FBI said in the complaint that a witness positively identified Heidl in a photograph on Grayson's ipad and in surveillance images pulled from video at the Capitol.

Charges against Heinl include Knowingly Entering or Remaining in any Restricted Building or Grounds Without Lawful Authority, Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building or Grounds, Violent Entry and Disorderly Conduct on Capitol Grounds and Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building.
