The Defense Department will be a new tenant at the SouthSide Works. It's one of several changes coming to the property. It will lease about 2,500 square feet in building 3 for seven years.
That word came from owner SomeraRoad on Thursday. The Post-Gazette reports SouthSide Works is changing significantly, with the company investing more than $37 million for improvements.
Among the major changes: the SouthSide Works Cinema is being converted into a 77,000-square-foot office space.
Another 30,000 square feet in the building is being leased for an experiential entertainment concept featuring duckpin bowling, pinball, classic arcade games and more.
SomeraRoad is also planning to build a large apartment complex next to the Hofbrauhaus.
