South Fayette track star wins Women's Pittsburgh Marathon

The winners of the Pittsburgh Marathon have been announced.

In the men's division it was Alvaro Abreu of Puerto Rico, who finished in 2 hours 16 minutes, 7 seconds. A woman from the Pittsburgh area won in the women's division.

It was Nicole Hilton's first marathon and it turned out to be a memorable one. The 2011 South Fayette High School grad won the Women's Pittsburgh Marathon with a finish time of 2 hours 49 minutes, 49 seconds.

The Post-Gazette reports Hilton is a former track and cross-country star at South Fayette High School.

She's just the second Pittsburgh area woman to win the Pittsburgh Marathon since the race started back up in 2009.
