For the first time in over a year, there will be life in the cultural district.
On Thursday, Sarah Aziz, program manager of festivals and special projects at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, announced plans and headliners for this year's Three Rivers Arts Festival.
"This year's Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival showcases the cultural district. Our galleries', theaters' and venues' doors will be open to you for thefirst time in more than a year and we couldn't be more excited," said Aziz.
The festival will be smaller this year. Everything will be in the cultural district.
That means nothing at Point State Park or Gateway Center, with the main stage at the Byham Theatre.
The festival is scheduled to be held June 4 - 13 and will be a virtual and in-person event.
In-person events will take place from 12pm to 8pm each day. Virtual viewers will get to experience some of the activities in real time, including the concerts that are are scheduled to take place.
Tickets to main stage events will be first come-first served and will be available on May 20.
