Trout season officially begins across Pennsylvania Saturday, and we know where you can get a bite.
Executive Director of the PA Fish and Boat Commission, Tim Schaefer, says "One of the biggest questions we get from folks is where are the fish stocked."
Some of the spots you can check out in Allegheny County are Big Sewickley Creek, Deer Creek, off of Gibsonia Road, Long Run near McKeesport, the confluence of Trout Run and Montour Run in Robinson Township, and Pine Creek in Allison Park just to name a few.
The rest of this year's stocking schedule can be found here.
You can also find more information including how to apply for a license on the site or by downloading the PA Fish and Boat Commission's app.
And they plan to restock throughout the season, as much as 4 million trout.
Schaefer says there was increased interest in fishing last year, partly due to COVID.
"Across the country, people flocked to the water," says Schaefer.
And about a quarter of all them were first timers.
"It's relaxing, it's a way to connect with family," Schaefer continues.
Schaefer reminds anglers to wear a life jacket at all times if you're out on a boat.
