The USGA and other golf organizations are investing $1 million in Pittsburgh area public golf courses.

The USGA has teamed up with Oakmont Country Club and the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association to invest into the public golf scene in western Pennsylvania.

Along with the investments, they also announced leadership learning opportunities for people pursuing a career in golf through the 2025 championship giveback program.

Local parks in the borough of Oakmont are benefiting as part of the investment.

It supports public green space and outdoor areas.

The U.S. Open is at Oakmont for the historic 10th time.

Recent studies show the tournament brings in a $200 million-dollar economic impact for the area and more than 1,500 jobs.
