PITTSBURGH (Newsradio KDKA) - The search for a killer is getting a boost from the victim's father and a local businessman. Brandon Short's 26-year old daughter Karli was 5 months pregnant when she was found shot in the head on the morning of Monday, September 13th. This happened in the 300 block of 25th Street in McKeesport, PA. More than a week later, Allegheny County Police are continuing to follow leads but so far have not been able to identify the killer.
Today, retired NFL player Brandon Short announced that he is posting a $10,000 reward and automotive dealer Richard Bazzy is matching that to create a $20,000 reward for information that leads to the capture and conviction of Karli's killer.
Richard Bazzy joined me on the air this morning to make the announcement about the reward and ask people to help find whoever committed this horrible crime.
Tuesday morning Brandon Short talked about what he and his family are going through, including how they discovered that Karli was having a boy. They were planning a gender reveal party.
