Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump have dumped millions of dollars and spent hours upon hours canvassing all across Pennsylvania during this election cycle.
19 critical electoral votes are up for grabs in a race that has been polling close to even.
Both Trump and Harris made campaign stops in Pittsburgh on Monday and on Tuesday, Vice President Harris called into KDKA Radio to make her final case to be elected the 47th President of the United States.
Ms. Harris visited Pittsburgh 10 times since her campaign began this past summer when current President Joe Biden dropped out.
“I love Pittsburgh and it was a good visit,” said Harris. “I’ve been spending time in Pittsburgh to talk with folks about the challenge they face, their dreams, their ambitions and what we can do to address those issues.”
Harris added that Pittsburgh is a place that represents American workers and industry.
Larry Richert asked her about some of the important issues this election has been focused on.
Immigration:
Harris tells KDKA Radio that the southern border has been a “broken for a long time, through frankly Democratic and Republican administrations and we can fix it.”
She pointed to a bill that would’ve improved the southern border through putting more agents at the border and other resources.
She says that bill was supported by conservatives but was killed by Trump so he would have a topic to run on.
Harris also repeated some of the hits from her closing argument speech says that Trump will have an “enemies list” and she will have a “to-do list” on inauguration day.
Divided Nation:
The perception among many Americans is that the country hasn’t been this divided in decades.
Harris that that can be fixed but first she says “it has to be that you want to and I will tell you . . . it pains me that . . . for the last decade there has been this suggestion that American should be divided, pointing their fingers at each other when the face this, and I know it, it’s a lived experience, we all have so much more in common then was separates us.”
First acts, if elected:
Harris says that her first act will be to reduce the cost of living for most American families.
She says she’ll do it through a package of plans for small businesses, first-time families and more.
Listen to the entire interview with Harris, who says she will be spending Election Night at her alma mater, Howard University in Washington D.C.
KDKA Radio reached out on multiple occasions to the Trump campaign. We were told the former president was not doing local radio interviews.
