Washington High assistant football coach dies after game against McGuffey

Washington High School assistant football coach Ron Todd died after collapsing in the stands after Friday night's game against McGuffey.

The school community was notified of Todd's death Sunday night.

Acting Superintendent Mr. BJ Mihelcic said that Todd was “not only a dedicated educator and mentor but also a beloved member of our school community.”

The cause of death has not been released.

Grief counselors will be available today at Washington High.

“Please know that our entire school community is here to support each other as we navigate this loss together,” Mihelcic said in a statement. “If you have any questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.”
