A woman in Westmoreland County is facing multiple charges including child endangerment after a police officer found six children alone in a van outside the Municipal Courts Building.
31-year-old Shinazja Martinez-Hyde, of West Newton, was arrested this week after the officer rescued the children from a van parked in in direct sunlight with the windows up.
The deputy stated that the car was so hot that he quickly started to sweat getting the kids out of the hot vehicle.
The children range in age from four months to four-years-old. The criminal complaint says Martinez-Hyde was also driving on a suspended license at the time of the arrest.
