Wan Wes is a father, minister, mentor and so much more to his family and his community. Representing the East Side (East Hills, Homewood, Garfield) he caters to the men and young men through sports and of course community service.
Wan started a program called the I Love Life Campaign, which is a ministry that focuses on youth development and community enrichment, leadership as well as entrepreneurship.
With the changing times, many after school programs and mentoring programs have dwindled and in some areas, disappeared. Wan collected some amazing leaders in his community to start the I Love Life campaign and started working towards molding these young leaders and some fathers.
Men have a tough time communicating and expressing their true feelings. Wan says this program is a safe place for all that!
He says in our sit down that the campaign is meant to help equip the youth to live a long life. Living in the inner city, you know it's something many of us fear for our children.
We also talk about Violence Prevention through the leadership of Fatherhood too.
Wan is really cool and you'll love our conversation.
