Police are investigating after multiple reports of a suspicious woman, wearing clown makeup in Fayette County.

German Township Police Chief Zachary Kodric tells KDKA Radio, that the woman has stopped at several different homes in the Footedale area, claiming to be a private investigator.

Chief Kodric says the one female resident was told by the woman in the makeup that she was investigating missing child cases.

When confronted by the resident’s husband, she fled the area.

“She is definitely suffering a mental health crisis,” said Kodric. “We have reason to believe she’s not taking prescribed medications.”

At this time, Kodric says there are not criminal charges and they just want to get her the help she needs.

“I don’t believe she’s a physical threat, she’s probably more of a threat to herself at this point being that she’s going through a mental health crisis,” said Kodric.

But he did add, “She’s definitely not in her right state of mind so I wouldn’t let your guard down.”

If anyone comes in contact with the woman, you are asked to call 911.

The Albert Gallatin School District sent a not to parents and guardians earlier this week, informing them of the incident.

The school district says the vehicle the woman has been seen in is a grey ford Focus with the PA license plate number LTL 1956.
