Former President Donald Trump spoke on Fox News on Sunday discussing various topics, one of which included praise for the people who were present at the rally that preceded the U.S. Capitol attack on Jan. 6.

The former president praised those at the rally on "Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo" and said that those present were there for only one reason, the "rigged election."

"There was such love at that rally. You had over a million people there," Trump said. "They were there for one reason, the rigged election, they felt the election was rigged that's why they were there. They were peaceful people; these were great people. The crowd was unbelievable; I mentioned the word love, the love in the air. I've never seen anything like it."

The FBI has been making arrests for those who stormed the U.S. Capitol building, with over 500 people being identified and arrested. It has also used a database of over 900 collected images and private investigators to find those who attacked police officers, threatened journalists, and destroyed government property.

Mr. Trump did not talk about those present at the Capitol who participated in the rioting. He instead talked about how the rally participants were patriots, and some have even been unjustly arrested and jailed. He also mentioned that the woman killed by law enforcement at the insurrection was a great hero.

This summer, the former president has been making headlines as he gave a speech at a rally in Ohio, visited the border with Texas Gov. Gregg Abbott, and spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference. Trump even stopped by the UFC event over the weekend where he was met with both boos and cheers from the crowd.

A new social media platform that is "Pro-Trump," was also released last weekend but was quickly attacked by hackers who were able to get into accounts and change the names of famous users. The breach was quickly fixed, but the new site has received backlash for not blocking racist rhetoric in its user's posts.

At the end of the interview, Trump suggested that the blame for any violence that day could be placed on Speaker Nancy Pelosi. He suggested that she and other Democrats did not take the potential for violence seriously, not taking action to stop the crowd.

"They are the ones that were responsible," he said.
