PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed an additional 10,068 cases of COVID-19 across the state over the last two days.
With just over 10,000 new cases, the statewide total has reached 771,845.
Along with the new cases, the state has confirmed an additional 202 deaths due to COVID-19.
The statewide death toll continues to rise and creeps closer to 20,000 by reaching 19,390.
Of the current cases within the state of Pennsylvania, there are currently 4,614 patients hospitalized and 945 of them are in intensive care units.
Most of the patients that have been hospitalized or died due to coronavirus have been reported at age 65 or older.
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues across the state, the State Health Department stresses the continuous wearing of masks and constant hand washing among other ways to slow the spread.
