PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) The Pennsylvania Department of Health updated their daily COVID-19 numbers with an additional 8,545 cases.
This brings the statewide total of past or present cases to 622,349.
The Health Department also confirmed an additional 267 deaths, bringing the state's death toll to 15,353.
Currently there are 5,995 patients hospitalized from COVID-19 complications, and 1,174 are in intensive care units.
Most of the hospitalizations and deaths are from citizens aged 65 or older.
The number of cases added every day remains near double the peak in Pennsylvania during the spring.
The Health Department continues to urge consistent mask wearing to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
