Former President Donald Trump has already made his mind up about whether to run in the 2024 presidential election, he told Fox News host Sean Hannity this week.
However, Trump did not explicitly tell Hannity what decision he made.
“It's not that I want to, the country needs it,” he said in response to Hannity’s comment that he looked ready to “reengage in that battle.” Trump said that the constant fighting that comes with running for president isn’t fun.
Guests at the town hall-style interview held at the southern border Wednesday night, just a few days after Trump's rally in Ohio, cheered when Trump said he had made up his mind about running.
Trump and Hannity also discussed the former president’s time in office, possible plans for the future and current president Joe Biden.
“There was nothing good, it was embarrassing,” said Trump of a State of the Union speech made by Biden. Things Trump told Hannity he wanted to see for the country are U.S. troops removed from Afghanistan and low taxes.
This week prosecutors in New York City arraigned Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg on charges that include grand larceny and tax fraud. The Trump Organization, a group of around 500 business entities that Trump owns, was also accused of a scheme to avoid due taxes.
