He might be the only one that doesn’t know why.

Devin Bush, who recently signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks, worth $3.5 million, doesn’t know why the Steelers didn’t pick up his fifth year option.

“I wish I knew, but to this day, I have no answer,” said on the Ian Furness Show Podcast.

Bush would’ve made $10.7 million in 2023 if the Steelers picked up his option.

That was obviously too much money for the Steelers to pay, which is evident with him playing for $3.5 million in Seattle.

Bush showed signs of promise in his rookie year, came with a lot of hype.

The Steelers traded up to take him 10th overall in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Michigan.

The 5-foot-11, 234-pounder played in all 17 games last year, staring in 14. He had 81 total tackles two passes defended, two tackles for a loss, two quarterback hits and zero sacks, fumbles or interceptions.

As the Fan Morning Show said the reason they didn’t pick up Bush’s option was because, “he sucked.”

The Athletic’s Mike DeFabo point it a little more eloquently.

“He was 5-foot-11 and couldn’t get off blocks, so they had to take him off the field against running teams.” Said DeFabo.

He also said he wasn’t able to go against good running teams with linebacker Mark Robinson, a former running back, on the field instead.

DeFabo added on passing plays, he “came off the field as well.”

Hopefully that helps Bush.

But during a news conference with the media, Bush talked about his time in Pittsburgh and how he wasn't at his best.

"I learned a lot," Bush said of his time in Pittsburgh. "Obviously, I wouldn't say it was up to par, but I had my ups and downs. I think I learned a lot about myself, I learned a lot about this business, and I learned about what I want out of it. I thank the Steelers for taking a chance on me and I thank them for the four years that I had, but it's obviously time to move on, go to different things, and learn some more."
