New Steelers Head Coach Mike McCarthy says he "definitely" wants Aaron Rodgers back as the Steelers quarterback in 2026.
McCarthy was asked by Tribune Review sports writer Tim Benz if in his "personal preference" he wants to reunite with his quarterback from his days in Green Bay.
"I don't see why you wouldn't," said McCarthy.
But, McCarthy says he isn't rushing the four-time MVP for an answer, noting that its important for players to take some time after a season.
McCarthy says they haven't discussed any type of timeline for a decision from Rodgers.
"I have spoken to Aaron, so really, that's where we are there," said McCarthy adding he watched most of the games Rodgers started for Pittsburgh. "I thought he was a great asset for the team."
