Former Steelers special teams captain Sean Morey was at Super Bowl XL and Super Bowl XLIII but had two drastically different experiences in both.
Morey was a member of the Steelers during their win against the Seattle Seahawks but was with the Arizona Cardinals when Pittsburgh beat them in 2008.
Morey shared his memories of both games with the PM Team live from Radio Row for Super Bowl says in 2005 he remembers after the game sitting with Brett Keisel and realized what he just accomplished.
"'Do you realize we just reached the pinnacle of our careers?' and it hit me right there, it was like wow this is what I've been fighting for being cut eight times, playing for five different teams, going to NFL Europe three times, finally landing in Pittsburgh and having a home there."
His most memorable moment of Super Bowl XLIII isn't so good for him, but immortalized in Steelers Nation.
"Traumatically, I remember when James (Harrison) picked that ball off on the goal line and it was a two touchdown swing," said Morey.
Helpless to stop it on the sidelines, Morey says he had time to thing about a way to stop it.
"I had like 15 seconds to think how could bad could it possibly be if I either throw my helmet down to trip him up . . . just fake like a head fake at him and he stops or moves, I mean what would happen, I would be infamous, I would be ridiculed but he might not score," said Morey. "What do they do, give him a touchdown?"
Morey says he is a friend of Harrison and saw him the next week at the Pro Bowl.
"I'm sitting across from him at dinner and I'm like just giving him the stink eye and he's just smiling and laughing," said Morey.
