PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Pitt free safety Erick Hallett named the ACC Defensive Back of the Week for his role in the win at Virginia Tech.

Hallett had a key interception with the Panthers up 7-0 leading to a short touchdown drive and a 14-0 lead in Blacksburg.

"He played really well," said Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi.  "He just keeps getting better.  Damar (Hamlin) didn't just appear one day and be a great player, neither did Kenny Pickett.  It's called development and the more snaps you get out there.  The more comfortable you get, he's just getting really comfortable."

The junior also had four tackles and two pass breakups.  Hallett is tied for third on the Panthers with 26 tackles and leads in solo tackles with 15.  He also has a fumble recovery this year.

"I think he's played good," Narduzzi said.  "He keeps getting a little bit better every week.  That's what you are looking for.  That's why you coach."

Pitt had a trio of ACC Player of the Week winners after the win over Georgia Tech-Kenny Pickett (QB), Gabe Houy (Offensive Lineman) and John Petrishen (Linebacker).
