PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – He led the Steelers to the playoffs last year going 3-0 as a starter down the stretch, now Mason Rudolph is gone. NFL Network reporting the free agent quarterback signs with the Titans for one-year, 3.62 million.

Drafted by the Steelers in the third round in 2018 with a ‘first round grade’, Rudolph would end up going 8-4-1 in his six-year career. He would start eight games his second season after the season-ending injury to Ben Roethlisberger going 5-3 with 13 touchdowns to nine interceptions with a 62.2 completion percentage and 1,765 yards.

Called on after Kenny Pickett’s injury and Mitch Trubisky’s ineffectiveness at the end of last season, Rudolph beat Cincinnati, Seattle and Baltimore to get the Steelers in the post-season.
He completed 74.3 percent of his passes for 719 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. The quarterback rating was 118.0.

“I love the Pittsburgh Steelers,” Rudolph said minutes after the playoff loss at Buffalo. “They have been my only home for six years. We will see what happens. It’s not really my decision. A lot of it is out of my control, we will see what happens.”

What has happened is he joins a quarterback room with currently with Will Levis and Malik Willis. He likely will get a better chance to start in Nashville than he would have in Pittsburgh.
