Steelers release 1st depth chart-Pickett 3rd string

LATROBE, PA (93.7 The Fan) – First-round draft pick Kenny Pickett listed as the third-team quarterback as the Steelers released their first depth chart of training camp Friday afternoon.

Mitch Trubisky listed as the starter, and he’s gotten most of the first-team reps.  Mason Rudolph is second, that is also consistent with how it’s mostly gone at camp.  Pickett is third.

Other notable early designations:

·     Rookie George Pickens is a starter with Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool
·     2nd team—Anthony Miller, Cody White and Miles Boykin, rookie Calvin Austin is on the 4th team

·     Connor Heyward ahead of Kevin Rader for third team, Jace Sternberger, who has seemed to have a good camp, is listed as the 5th team TE

·     Kendrick Green and Kevin Dotson listed as co-starters as that battle continues. The rest of the offensive line is how it’s been since the first day of OTAs—Dan Moore, Mason Cole, James Daniels, Chuks Okorafor

·     The order behind Najee Harris-Benny Snell, Anthony McFarland, Jaylen Warren

·     Only Derek Watt listed here, Heyward strictly a TE

·     Devin Bush and Robert Spillane listed as co-starters with Myles Jack on the other side
·     Marcus Allen and Ulysees Gilbert as the second team middle linebackers

·     2nd team is Genard Avery on the left and Derrek Tuszka on the right

·     Starters are as expected with the veterans Cam Heyward, Tyson Alualu and Larry Ogunjobi
·     Back-ups are Isaiahh Loudermilk, Montravius Adams and Chris Wormley, DeMarvin Leal is third team

·     Levi Wallace and Ahkello Witherspoon are co-starters on the left and Cam Sutton the starter on the right.
·     James Pierre is the backup on the right side with undrafted rookie Chris Steele on the left.
·     Terrell Edmunds starting ahead of Damontae Kazee at strong safety with Tre Norwood the back-up to Minkah Fitzpatrick at free safety
