PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Talking to several players in the locker room, it was about as locked in as they've seen the offense in a practice this year on Thursday. It's typically a heavy throwing day and the ball rarely hit the ground.
"I think in general as a team you could see confidence in the team, building," said receiver Allen Robinson. "At the end of the day, I think it's the constant work guys have been putting in. You do feel that, you feel when you have a very spirited practice all around. That's what you need in the NFL."
Energy a part coming off the bye week, but players saying just having everyone back has put the team in the good place with one more day of practice before playing in Los Angeles. Several praised the accuracy of Kenny Pickett during the Thursday workout.
"It's about stacking days on top of days and then getting to Sunday," Robinson said. "It starts in the midst of practice. Guys are working each and every day working to get better."
"It's nothing to gloat about, we got to go out and do it on Sunday."
Guard James Daniels, who said he will return this week after a groin injury, said it's been a good week of practice. Daniels preparing for a fourth matchup of his career against Aaron Donald, saying his team won one of the previous three. He added he expects former Steeler Kevin Dotson will be in the LA locker room and likely asked about giving his new teammates trends or tips about his old ones.
"If we had someone on our D-line who was with the Rams, I would be in his ear all week," Daniels said. "I definitely would see them asking-where are they looking here? Where are they doing this? If the roles were reversed, I would be asking that."
With the Rams last year, Robinson can do the same for the Steelers defense.
"I'm not going to say too much, but I do have those conversations just from being able to go up against that defense in practice," Robinson said. "They are much different than they were last year as far as roster and a little bit schematically."
They do still have Donald.
"That dude, playing with him and seeing him every day and what he is capable of," Robinson said. "He's a special player."
