May is all about mothers and nurses, which is fitting for our KNX Heroes of the Week, Rose Domantay and her daughters, Remie Deguito, Rochelle Domantay, and Frances Domantay.
Hear the full interview with Domantay family here:

Rose Domantay has spent over 40 years taking care of patients with kindness and compassion.
“I've been a nurse since 1982,” Rose told Heroes host Heather Jordan. “I started in Norway, worked for 10 years, and then moved to California in 1992.”
Her life has consisted of hard work and determination, a never-give-up attitude, and a caring nature that is admired by many. Her impact has been so strong that Rose inspired all three of her daughters to pursue a career in nursing as well! In fact, Remy, Rochelle, and Francis all work at the same hospital as their mom - Dignity Health St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach!

The youngest, Francis, was the first to get the nursing bug.
“When I was in kindergarten, I was like, ‘I want to be a nurse!’,” she said. “She’ll have things written to her from patients and stuff like that. She worked overtime a lot. She always goes the extra mile, and I thought that was just something that was really special, and when we all told her we want to do nursing, she did everything to support us. She'd help us study. Our goal is to be like her, definitely. “
The oldest, Remi, was the last one to go into nursing.
“I was very fortunate,” she said. “By the time I got into St. Mary's, my mom's been there for a few years, and my two sisters were there, so I went into a very supportive environment, and then if I had any questions, any worries, I could always lean on my family, my mom, and my sisters.”

Rochelle offered these words of wisdom: “Love your moms, love each other, love your patients, love your co-workers, love yourself. It's a rewarding career, but it's tough, but you got to stay positive and just know that you're making a difference in someone's life every day you go in.”
