Sunset Beach in Huntington Beach has been closed due to a great white shark sighting.
The 9-to-10-foot-long shark was first spotted around 10 a.m. and was seen "actively feeding on a sea lion carcass," according to the Huntington Beach Fire Department.
The water will be off limits for 48 hours for one mile in either direction of Sunset Beach Tower 12 at Pacific Avenue and 12th Street.
This comes just after another aggressive shark sighting near the Huntington Beach Pier, which forced a surfing competition to be postponed.
