One person arrested Monday morning after a fight at PGA Korn Ferry Tour Wichita Open qualifier in Newton.
The victim and suspect were golfing together at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course when an argument began between the two. The suspect and his father, who was also his caddy, refused to help the victim look for an errant golf ball in the rough.
The city of Newton says the suspect then punched the victim in the face and tackled him to the ground.
"He held the victim down until he said 'uncle' and then released him," the city says.
KAKE News reports Newton police arrested Luke Smith, of Covington, Tennessee, and he was booked into the Harvey County Detention Center on one count of misdemeanor battery. The report will be forwarded to the Newton City Prosecutor's Office for review of charges.
According to the the University of Tennessee at Martin, Smith is a student and a member of the university's golf team.
