Wichita State looking to get back in to the win column Monday night in Denton, TX facing the North Texas Mean Green. Not a great start for the Shockers, NT taking a big double digit early lead. The Shockers would battle back, only trailing 31-28 at halftime.
Back and forth after halftime; the Shockers would capitalize on a Mean Green scoring drought to take their first lead of the contest, then would go on a scoring drought of their own and have to battle back again. It all came down to a 2 point lead for North Texas, Shockers with the ball and 7 seconds to tie or take a lead. And the Shockers could not connect, and lose 68-66.
Wichita State was outrebounded 29-24 and shot 46%, while the Mean Green shot 51.1 percent from the floor and missed only one free throw (13-for-14.) Wichita State continues their Texas road trip Thursday with a stop in Houston for the Shockers' final regular season road game at Rice.
