On this Veterans’ Day weekend, we’re honoring the stories and sacrifices of the men and women who serve our country.

With Veterans Day coming up on Tuesday and the 250th Anniversary of the United States Marine Corps on Monday — PBS is bringing a powerful new documentary to the nation. It’s called The Last 600 Meters, and it takes us inside two of the Iraq War’s most intense battles, told through the voices of the Marines and soldiers who were there on the ground.

The film was directed by award-winning filmmaker Michael Pack, known for projects that shine a light on American history and the people who shape it. The Last 600 Meters airs on Monday, November 10th at 10pm on PBS.
Pack discusses the stories behind the film, the veterans who lived it, and why their voices matter now more than ever.
