Makes you wonder how much they’ll get for the Ark of the Covenant.

Capitalizing on all the excitement about the upcoming fifth Indana Jones movie, Prop Store Auction in L.A. put the famous fedora from “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” up for auction on Tuesday.

The winning bidder was not identified, but whoever it was ended up coughing up $300,000 for the hat.

Prop Store was thinking it would rake in $100,000 to $200,000, so it was a bit of a surprise. Though again maybe not, as reinterest in the iconic character has been ratcheting up again.

There’s little doubt more than one fedora has been used in each of the four-film franchise. But many fans believe “Temple of Doom,” the second installment in the series, might be the best.

But of course, the original is always the most desirable, as evidenced by the fact that Indy’s fedora from the first film, “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” netted $500k in a 2015 auction.

Nevertheless, for this auction, Prop Store ensured that this fedora is a definite one-of-a-kind.

"Created by Herbert Johnson Hat Company,” reads the description, “who also did the hats for Raiders of the Lost Ark, the fedora was a slight update on the original film’s version. Costume designer Anthony Powell and assistant costume designer Joanna Johnston worked closely with Herbert Johnson on the update that incorporated a more tapered crown than the prior film... The fedora is in excellent condition, showing light wear with some signs of age, and comes stored in a plastic hat box."

Harrison Ford’s star is constantly shining at film ephemera auctions, given his numerous iconic roles.

As IGN reports, in 2018, Prop Store auctioned the jacket worn by Ford as Han Solo in “The Empire Strikes Back” for an expected final bid around 1 million pounds. That auction also included the likes of Indiana Jones' bullwhip, Tyler Durden's robe from “Fight Club,” and Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber from “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.”

If you can’t wait to see what adventures the 78-year old Ford gets himself into in the next Indy flick, grab the new 4k restoration box set of all four previous Indiana Jones epics.
