Your calendar might still say summer, but Oreo is already getting a jump on the yearly sweater-weather flavor obsession.
The cookie giant is stoking autumnal tastebuds with the return of their Pumpkin Spice Sandwich Cookies – the first time they’ve offered them in five years.
The limited-edition snack features two golden Oreo cookies (rather than the black) with a “festive pumpkin spice flavored cream” stuck in the middle, waiting for you to twist the whole thing open and dive in like its a big pile of raked leaves.
As CNN noted, more and more food companies are getting into the pumpkin spice game all the time.
Bud Light Seltzer and Samuel Adams beer have pumpkin-flavored versions; Cup Noodles offer a pumpkin-flavored ramen; and both Starbucks and Dunkin’ will no doubt be rolling out their pumpkin-tinged treats soon enough.
For the last few years though, Oreo has been as active on the flavor-twisting trend as any name brand, coming up with kooky cookie combos like chocolate confetti cake, a Lady Gaga flavor, and a recent mash-up with Ritz crackers.
Heck, they even partnered with a vineyard to make an Oreo-infused wine.

While constantly coming up with new cookie flavors, Mondelez – the owner of Oreo cookies– conversely announced recently that it’s divesting its gum business, which includes the Dentyne and Trident brands.
