New raw video shows Affton officer involved shooting

At 7:12 PM, on September 20, 2023, two St. Louis County police officers from the Affton Southwest Precinct responded to a call for service for a domestic disturbance in the 9100 block of Rambler Drive. Officers were advised that a male suspect was intoxicated and refusing to allow the caller to leave the residence. Officers were also advised the suspect was armed with a handgun and threatened harm to officers if they responded to the residence. When the officers arrived on the scene, they observed the suspect on the front porch of the residence with a handgun in each of his hands. The officers told the suspect numerous times to drop the guns and also attempted to engage the suspect in conversation to de-escalate the situation. The suspect refused to comply, instead raising one of the guns toward one of the officers. Both the officers and the suspect fired their weapons. The suspect was struck by gunfire in the exchange.  Officers immediately rendered aid to the suspect, an adult male. The suspect was transported to an area hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries.    The St. Louis County police officers involved in this incident are 38 years of age with 3 and a half years of law enforcement experience and 29 years of age with one and a half years of law enforcement experience. The officers were not injured.  Two handguns were recovered from the suspect at the scene.

AFFTON, MO (KMOX) The St. Louis County Police Department said Karl Schuhe, 59, exchanged gunfire with them on Thursday, Sept. 21 at his home on Rambler Drive in Affton.

Schuhe died a day later.
