As of 2021, Juneteenth is an official St. Louis County holiday.
Today, County Executive Sam Page, along with other county and NAACP officials, installed 12 Juneteenth flags at Memorial Park in Clayton.
Page called the holiday a celebration of "Black freedom and resilience."
