With the 4th of July coming up, Sedgwick County will once again operate their non-emergency line.
The line will run from July 1st to the 5th, from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. It was established to prevent an influx of nuisance calls like party, fireworks and noise complaints, which can block emergency calls from reaching a 911-call taker. If someone calls 9-1-1 with a non-emergency, he or she will be transferred to the non-emergency line.
If you have a non-emergency call, you're asked to call 290-1011, instead of 911.
