Hour 1 - Storms, including Tornado Warnings, in Kansas leads off our local and national news update. Several waves of severe weather crossed parts of central and eastern Kansas Tuesday night.  Storms moved into the Wichita area as a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for Sedgwick County; as well as Butler, Cowley, and Sumner, Counties a little after 9:30. There were a few reports of pea to nickel sized hail in the area, as well as rains that caused some street flooding that closed Pawnee street from Meridian to West, and closed Harry from McLean to Seneca.

The warning lasted about a half hour for Sedgwick County. 30 minutes later more storms boiling up from Oklahoma caused a Severe Thunderstorm Warning to be issued again for parts of Sumner and Cowley Counties. It was over fairly quickly for Sumner County, but continued for Cowley County as the warning was extended to include Chautauqua and Elk. Emergency management in Arkansas City reported trees uprooted in town blocking the road as well as a downed power pole with lines down. They estimated this happened around 10:30.

Elsewhere in the state, multiple Severe Thunderstorm Warnings were issued in the Kansas City area, Tornado Warnings across the state line on the Missouri side. Just after 8:00 p.m. a Tornado Warning was issued for Atchison and Leavenworth counties in Kansas.
