From film sets to community fridges - one organization is working to make sure good food doesn’t go to waste in Los Angeles.
Urzlo Glaviano with Every Day Action told KNX News’ Nataly Tavidian that instead of letting leftover craft services food go into the trash, the group is reallocating the meals and bringing them to community fridges across L.A.
“It feels good just because, like, food insecurity is sort of a passion of mine anyways,” he said. “I'm pretty food insecure myself. It's a really prevalent problem in Los Angeles because everyone's struggling to make ends meet, especially right now, and you know, everyone. Food stamps got cut this fall, too.”
When Nataly went to shadow Glaviano, she reported that he collected 75 pounds of food in just one day.
The group is also hosting a fundraiser gala in Culver City on April 18th to support their work. You can learn more by clicking here.
