SALINAS, Calif. (KNX) - A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after driving through a crime scene Saturday night, police said.

Salinas Police were on the scene of a deadly shooting at the intersection on Towt Street and Grandhaven Street when it happened.

Officers had already blocked off the area but saw a driver, identified as Francisco Felix, go right through the scene and smash into an occupied patrol car. One officer was inside the car at the time and suffered minor injuries from the crash, according to police.

“Felix was arrested and blew a .26 BAC, well over the legal limit,” police shared in a Facebook post.

Police said there were no serious injuries and the crime scene was not compromised.

The man and woman who were found by officers in the original investigation later died of their injuries at the hospital. Both were found with gunshot wounds, but police have not determined who shot them.
