DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - It was called "Operation Atlas" and the Collin County Sheriffs department believes it took over a dozen child predators off the streets.

Officials say 14 different agencies joined forces to target those who were soliciting children online. In all 15 people were arrested and will be charged with online solicitation of a minor.

Nick Bristow with the Collin County sheriffs department says during the investigation, they were able to rescue a 5 year old boy.

"It started as a search warrant in Allen that led the investigators to Arkansas. They handed it over to federal agencies in Arkansas and they executed a search warrant. That's when they were able to rescue the victim," he says.

Bristow believes the boy was used in the production of child pornography.

In addition, investigators seized a large number of electronic devices and believe more arrests are likely.
