DALLAS (KRLD 1080)- A Dallas church is offering more than good thoughts to federal employees affected by this fourth week of the government shutdown.
Services at Concord Church ended yesterday with a special prayer for those who are furloughed or still working without pay during the shutdown. The church handed gift cards and food baskets to those people. Members of the congregation had also donated their own money to help out.
Those federal workers who received the church's helping hand say they're thankful for it. Many say it's frustrating going to work, knowing a paycheck isn't coming, and feeling like a pawn in the government shutdown. However, they say the support from their church family means a lot.
Leaders at Concord Church say they're encouraging these federal workers to keep their faith and take this one day at a time.
