DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - For the fourth-straight year, Burleson ISD is pumping up their students and staff with a big parody video to kick off the school year.
Superintendent Bret Jimerson, School Board Trustee Pat Worrell, and a cast of dozens star in a parody of Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road."
"(STEAM Middle School Principal) Chris Chappotin rewrites the lyrics and does the vocals and does a really nice job of putting a Burleson spin on it," says Jimerson.
The fun song fits into the philosophy of teaching at Burleson schools.
"School can be fun. That doesn't mean every day and every assignment is going to be fun, but in the totality of things we want kids to enjoy coming to school," says Jimerson.
