DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - The Dallas Public Library now has mobile hot spots available that can be checked out and taken home.
The Dallas City Council recently approved the purchase of 900 devices for public use.
Melissa Dease with the Dallas library says the hot spots will help people who don't have internet access at home.
"That's really what the library is trying to do...it's trying to help even the playing field a little bit ", according to Dease.
She says the devices will be especially helpful to students who need internet access to keep up with their school work.
Library cardholders can check out a hot spot for 30 days at a time
