A Fort Hood soldier found dead in a lake near the base is believed to have drowned.
The Bell County Sheriff's Department says a preliminary autopsy shows the cause of Private Mejhor Morta's death was consistent with a drowning.
His body was found by fishermen in Stillhouse Hollow Lake on Friday.
The Army says the 26-year-old Private from Pensacola, Florida had a number of awards and decorations. He entered the Army in 2019.
It was at least the third time in a month that a Fort Hood soldier's body has been discovered.
The remains of 20-year-old Specialist Vanessa Guillen were found earlier this month after she went missing from the base.
Fould play is also suspected in the Fort Hood death of 24-year-old Gregory Morales.
